Santa Paws Drive 2011
We have officially launched for the 3rd year in a row Santa Paws Drive. This is a virtual toy drive for shelter pets. This started in 2009 from Dorian founder of YourDailyCute.com who wanted shelter pets to feel love around the holidays as much as her own forever pets.
I Became a part of Santa Paws Drive in 2010 and loved it, it is great to know we are giving shelter pets something to look forward to while they wait for their furever home.
Taking Nominations
We are focusing on helping shelters that focus on special needs pets this year. If you know of a great no kill shelter that focuses on special needs pets. Please nominate them We will be closing the nominations on Oct. 21,2011. And announcing our shelters within that week. Then we will begin our toy drive on Nov 1, 2011

Meow Moments: Still no kittens, the last group ended up not needing to be fostered. So now we wait for a another call when a new group arrives. Ill keep everyone posted as soon as I hear.

Still no Kittens, but
Still no kittens at the moment, but we have a new friend we bumped into while doing some yard work. The other day we had a visitor show up at our back door. And no it wasn’t a kitten or a human. It was a Praying Mantis. These guys are apparently very rare and they are great additions to the garden so I hope he sticks around and brings his friends. Check out the few shots I was able to get of him.

**Smalls** Update
Smalls is turning into such a love bug and the following pictures I got from her Mommy are proving it. And her name is sticking. Her other 2 cats have 2 names each so she plans to keep smalls and most likely she will end up with a 2nd nickname at some point. I’ll update you all once I know.
Smalls meets one of her siblings. So far so good only smalls has hissed but that has just about stopped.

Meow Moments: We are waiting till the week of Aug 8th to take in more kittens as we have had alot going on and the break was nice. So stay tuned till the next group arrive.

DIY – Scratch Tower
Hey everyone, with no kittens at the moment I decided to finish a project i started back in February.
Well our resident cats got a Litter Robot as their Christmas present. ( I was probably more for me but we are not telling them that hehe) This was the best investment I have bought, It is the best automatic litter box and is worth its wait in gold.
Now onto the scratch tower. The Robot cam in a huge box that had tons of carboard packaging.
The Box
We decided to cut the box up and all the packaging into 6 inch square pieces.
Now we bought some wood for the base and covered it in carpet. Here are some in progress pics
Then the fun of drilling holes through the center of each cardboard square to fit on a rod i bought to go through the tower.
Here is the finish product. It stands about 3 feet tall.
Ashe & Sitara have yet to use it as far as we have seen, but i have seen rub her head up against it.
Meow Moments: New Kittens will not arrive till at least next week, I will give an update next week once I know when a new group could arrive.

Smalls meets Sitara
Sitara is been around more so we were curious what would happen with smalls playing with her. She tolerates it then hisses and smalls isn’t sure what to think.
Meow Moments: Smalls adoption day will be this Saturday. I am working on a friend that lives 2 minutes away to adopt her which will be best situation for all since we would get plenty of updats.
